Tony Isaacson - Diving Naturalist. As a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor, AWARE shark conservation specialist and adventurer, I have dived in some of the most amazing diving locations on the planet. I have been scuba diving since 1970 and have logged over 3000 dives in more than 20 countries around the world. I’ve documented the marine diversity in exotic locations like Komodo, Fiji, Vanuatu, PNG, Tahiti and the Galapagos Islands. In 2013, I inspired Navy Clearance Diver and bull shark bite survivor, Paul de Gelder and a 60 Minutes film crew to dive with bull sharks at the Ultimate Shark Encounter in Fiji. I was a consultant on the making of documentaries on Leafy Seadragons (for Channel 9), The Great Barrier Reef (with Richard Fitzpatrick for the BBC) and filmed underwater footage in Indonesia and off the Queensland and New South Wales coasts for TRAVELTHERENEXT TV. In July 2014, I headed to South Africa for the Sardine Run and dived with the great white sharks from Durban to Cape Town, South Africa. I’m a great advocate for sharks, sustainability and ecotourism, and I regularly volunteer for Reef Check and Grey Nurse Shark Watch in Australia.

Diving Videos

I have been scuba diving since at the early 1970’s.  It is in my blood.  It is my all consuming passion and I love to share my experiences with anyone willing to do so.

My life career background was in science and marine studies in high school education. After I part-retired in January 2008, I decided to pursue my diving passion further.

I qualified as an SSI Dive Leader in March 2008 (Leader No 47707).

I became a PADI Dive Instructor in May 2012 (No 307743).

I obtained my SSI Nitrox Only qualification in October 2012, in South Africa.

As one of my special interests was shark conservation I became a PADI Shark Aware Conservation Diver in June 2013, and shortly after qualified as a Reef Check Eco-Diver in September 2013.

As a PADI Scuba Dive Instructor, I can teach you to Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Dive Master (Dive Leader) level.

I work in association with Sunreef Scuba Diving Services, a diving operation in Mooloolaba, SE QLD.

If you wish to learn with me, I recommend that you have your own fins, mask and snorkel.  A wet suit is advisable but can be loaned or hired as required, as are BCD’s and tanks.

Standard courses rely on e-learning for the theory portion, and in an effort to keep costs down for you, shore-based rather than charter boat dives for the open water components.

I am extremely flexible and can work around holiday dates, work schedules, shift work and fly-in and fly-out rosters.

Teaching  is individualised and one-on-one with me. You will get my personal attention, knowledge and experience, and at a very competitive price.

If you are interested, or just want more information, just email or call me and we can further discuss what your requirements or needs are in more detail.

Should you require accommodation for the period of your training, then I can also offer budget but luxury short stay accommodation – see “Dive Hosting” for more information.
